Mahindra is preparing to update two of its most popular SUVs in 2026, and one of the most talked-about models is the Scorpio N Facelift. While the refreshed XUV700 is expected earlier in the year, the upgraded Scorpio N is likely to make its way to showrooms in the second half of 2026. A camouflaged test vehicle has already been spotted on the road, hinting that the development phase is well underway.

New 2026 Mahindra Scorpio N – What to Expect?

The Scorpio N has always stood out because of its tall body design and strong SUV character, and that core identity will remain unchanged in the facelift. Mahindra is expected to focus most of the exterior changes on the front. Early test sightings suggest a new grille design, updated LED headlamps, and a reworked front bumper. These tweaks could give the SUV a fresher and more premium appearance without altering its established look.

The side profile is expected to stay largely the same, although Mahindra may introduce larger and newly styled alloy wheels to elevate the overall presence. The upright stance and strong shoulders, which are key to the Scorpio N’s road presence, will likely be retained.

Possible Feature Upgrades

With the facelift, Mahindra seems to be aiming for a more feature-rich package. The updated Scorpio N may offer a larger touchscreen, a full digital TFT instrument cluster, and premium additions such as a panoramic sunroof and a Harman Kardon audio system with Dolby Atmos.

The cabin may also get convenience upgrades like powered front seats and a driver seat with memory function, making the SUV feel more premium and competitive within its category. These additions are expected to improve practicality while also enhancing the overall ownership experience.

No Mechanical Changes Expected

Mahindra is unlikely to change the engine options for the 2026 model. The facelifted Scorpio N is expected to continue with the same 2.0L turbo petrol and 2.2L turbo diesel engines. These engines currently deliver up to 200PS and 370Nm/380Nm in petrol form and 132PS/175PS with up to 400Nm in diesel versions, depending on the configuration.

The gearbox options will also remain the same, offering both a 6-speed manual and 6-speed torque-converter automatic. Since both engines are already well-regarded for performance and refinement, Mahindra is focusing its facelift efforts on design and features instead of mechanical revisions.

Expected Price and Rivals

A small price increase is expected once the updated model arrives. The current Scorpio N starts at Rs 13.20 lakh and goes up to Rs 24.17 lakh (ex-showroom). Even with a slight hike, it will continue competing directly with the Tata Safari and Hyundai Alcazar, both of which also offer strong feature lists and multiple powertrain options.

Final Thoughts

The 2026 Mahindra Scorpio N Facelift is shaping up to be a more stylish and more feature-loaded version of one of India’s most popular SUVs. With refreshed looks, a more premium cabin, and the same trusted engine options, the new model is expected to reinforce the Scorpio N’s position as a strong, value-focused family SUV. For buyers planning an upgrade next year, this facelift will be worth waiting for.
