The Renault Duster is finally returning to India after a long break, and the excitement is already building. The SUV first arrived in 2012, became popular for its rugged nature, and was later discontinued in 2022 due to slow updates and changing emission rules. Renault is now preparing to bring the third-generation Duster, skipping the second generation for India altogether. The new model will be unveiled on 26th January, and the market launch is expected soon after.

Modern Design

Renault has completely reworked the design of the 2026 Duster, giving it a tougher and sportier look than before. The SUV is built on the CMF-B modular platform, the same architecture used for its global sibling.

The India-spec version is expected to follow the styling cues of the latest Dacia Duster. This means a new front grille with Renault’s updated logo, slim LED headlamps, and a more sculpted front section. The bumper is likely to get thick cladding, wide air openings, and round fog lamps for a bold appearance.

The side and rear profiles should also feel more premium and muscular, with diamond-cut alloy wheels, strong fender lines, roof rails, and C-shaped LED taillamps. A roof-mounted spoiler will add a modern touch to the overall shape.

Premium Interior

Renault aims to uplift the cabin experience with better quality and more technology. The new Duster may come with all-black or dual-tone interior themes, depending on the variant.

Tech upgrades are expected to include a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a wireless charger, and a 7-inch digital driver display. The addition of an Arkamys 3D sound system, 360-degree camera, and ADAS features would make the cabin feel far more premium than before.

Petrol Engine Only

The 2026 Duster will return to India as a petrol-only SUV. Renault is expected to use its familiar 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine, which produces around 156bhp. Buyers will likely get a choice between a 6-speed manual gearbox and a CVT automatic.

This setup is designed to offer strong performance while meeting the latest emission standards.

Final Thoughts

The Renault Duster 2026 aims to bring back everything that made the original SUV popular, but with a far more modern approach to design, features, and performance. With a fresh platform, new technology, and a strong turbo-petrol engine, the upcoming model has the potential to re-establish the Duster as a key player in the midsize SUV market. The official debut on 26th January will reveal the full picture, but the early details already make the new Duster one of the most awaited launches of the year.
