Skoda is preparing for a major expansion in India, and the next few years will see several new models joining its lineup. The brand already sells popular cars like the Kylaq, Kushaq, Slavia, Octavia RS, and the latest Kodiaq, but the company now wants to strengthen its presence with a fresh wave of launches. These upcoming models include facelifts, new powertrain options, an AWD sedan, and even Skoda’s first electric vehicle for our market.
Skoda Kushaq Facelift
The Kushaq is set to receive a significant update in January 2026. With competition growing in the mid-size SUV space, Skoda aims to give the Kushaq a more modern look and a richer cabin experience. Test vehicles have hinted at a redesigned nose, refreshed alloy wheels, and a changed rear profile. Interior colour themes and trim layouts are also expected to be reworked.
Skoda is planning to add features that buyers now consider essential in this segment, such as level 2 ADAS, a panoramic sunroof, and even a rear-seat massage function. The mechanical setup will stay familiar, continuing with the 1.0 TSI and 1.5 TSI turbo-petrol engines paired with manual, torque converter, or DSG transmissions.
Slavia Facelift
The Slavia is also due for an update as the sedan segment evolves. The refreshed model will mainly focus on visual enhancements, allowing it to feel newer and more premium. Like the Kushaq, it will also move to level 2 ADAS, which brings added safety and convenience features.
Road testing has already begun, and the drivetrain options will remain unchanged. Buyers will once again get the 1.0 TSI and 1.5 TSI turbo-petrol engines, supported by manual and automatic gearbox choices. The goal is to retain the Slavia’s strong driving character while offering a fresher package.
Kylaq CNG
The Kylaq, which entered the market in late 2024, has quickly grown into one of Skoda’s most successful launches. Its mix of pricing, driving appeal, and solid build quality has drawn many buyers. To widen its reach, Skoda is preparing a CNG variant.
The existing 1.0 TSI petrol engine that produces 112hp and 178Nm is likely to be adapted for CNG use. Since Skoda already sells CNG-compatible models globally, integrating this technology shouldn’t be challenging. The Kylaq CNG will sit in the lower range of the variant lineup, giving buyers a more economical fuel choice without compromising much on performance.
Superb Diesel 4×4
The next-generation Superb is among Skoda’s most anticipated launches. A diesel version equipped with all-wheel drive has been tested repeatedly, and interest around it has grown after its showcase at the Bharat Global Mobility Expo.
This upcoming model marks the first-ever AWD Superb for India. Built on the MQB Evo platform, it will arrive as a CBU unit and is expected sometime in 2026. The sedan will use a 2.0-litre turbodiesel engine producing 188hp and 400Nm, paired with a 7-speed DSG. A front-wheel-drive version with a slightly detuned motor may also join the lineup, giving buyers more choice.
Electric Vehicle: Elroq or Enyaq iV
The introduction of CAFE 3 norms from April 2027 means carmakers must shift more aggressively toward electric mobility. Skoda has already confirmed its intention to launch an EV in India, and two names are currently in consideration: Elroq and Enyaq iV.
The Enyaq iV has been seen testing several times, but the Elroq remains equally likely as the first EV to be launched here. Both models are built on the MEB platform, which underpins several global electric vehicles from the Volkswagen Group.
Since Skoda will need to meet emission targets ahead of 2027, the company is expected to introduce its first EV in 2026, giving it enough time to build sales momentum before the regulations tighten.
